The Woman in the Orange Chair

A photograph of a woman with golden blonde hair looking over her shoulder. She sits on an orange midcentury modern papasan chair with metal legs.
Savannah

Savannah’s face is blurred along with the background as she looks back over her right shoulder and toward the light that is streaming in from outside.

This was intended to be a photography fashion shoot for the store, but I was more interested in the chair. If memory serves, I believe this was a mid century papasan lounge chair. I can’t be certain that the legs were original, as my roommate at the time had a mid-century furniture shop The Recalimory and she had a talent for finding mid century furniture and refurbishing it.

The camera captures Savannah’s knees and lap into sharp focus along with the bottom curve of the papasan. The dress, the main subject of the shoot, is not the focal point. Technically, I failed. I failed the fashion photoshoot. Yet, I liked the picture, and I took other pictures that served the purpose of the shoot. Still, I liked this one the best.
